Epiphone Embassy Pro's Coming back??

The new colors look great. The laurel fretboards look surprisingly decent in the Sweetwater pics too. Maybe they're dying it or something.
I was on the page when you bought this! Went from available to more on order after I posted
They should limit 2 per customer like toilet paper.
I'm really liking this colour and the green one as well.

Sorry about that, I'd been looking for them for a while, Sweetwater had no clue as to their arrival date(I asked my sales guy a month ago after seeing zzounds web page for them) but I saw that one the night prior to hitting the "Add to Cart" button...had to transfer money from one account to another to get it on a flexpay card and lucky it was still there the next day. After 30+ years in NOLA and wearing black and gold AND owning the Fender P(for a while) that the Jazz band played in the ORIGINAL home of the team(Tulane Stadium), I had no choice when Epi put that color scheme out. Sweetwater b/c I've NEVER had problems getting good basses from them, great pictures, and weight of bass before they ship it. No experience with zzounds, American Musical sent a really untouched, unplayable bass here in the past. I had notifications set up for them then Sweetwater got some.
PS: Wifey has black and gold Fleur-de-lis all over our home.....no longer a fan of the team or the league but memories, pictures, and videos up until August 1989 serve us well. Wifey may request getting another just to make wall art of it. If so, the pickups will get pulled and put in a 7-1/2 lb korina Epi Explorer here.

I've got one of the originals from the early 60's with the "bat wing" head stock. Great bass for rock with the mahogany neck and Thunderbird pickups, but it has insane neck dive. Are the re-issues any better?
@Sid Fang MUCH better, with a wide strap there is almost no neck dive.
I owned and played a "small brigade" of TB's two 63's, a 64, and a 76 TB when I got a 60's Epi Embassy in the 1970's. The 60's TB's blew it away.
The 76 TB and 60's Epi Embassy got sold in the late 70's. The 60's TB's got sold to move the family to Texas in 1989. Epi's new TB was an answer to prayers as I knew I'd never afford the 60's Gibson TB's again.

The current Embassy has no neck dive at all, it looks and feels very conventional, unlike other Epiphone models. If anything it almost feels like a light and compact short scale as many players have noticed, although it is long scale.
I just eyeballed photos of both 64's like mine and the re-issues, and the end of the upper horn on the new ones seems to align somewhere between the 13th and 14th fret on the new Embassies, but was all the way up between the 15th and 16th fret on the 60's versions. The old ones were the same body blanks as the Wiltshire guitars of the period. The re-issue bodies are much larger (and a bit more asymmetric).
Exactly, the horn is longer, as it should be, that is its purpose.
Lots of Embassy Pros, in all the new colors, were all over Reverb, many different sellers, but now they seem to have disappeared. Official product launch in the offing?
The Embassy Pro was discontinued in 2019, because of quality control issues according to rumours, the bridge was positioned incorrectly on many.

Epiphones are all eccentric except this one, very classic and conventional, feels compact and light, and has those particular Thunderbird pickups. Inexpensive too.
Sweetwater says they will be back in stock in a couple of weeks. Anyone get their hands on one yet?
My "gold" one arrived Saturday about an hour before I had to leave for a gig(yes they still exist, just much less frequent) so it's still in the box. Sweetwater does put a sticker on the box suggesting to leave it in the box for 24 hours. A case is on the way as are Straplocs(in case I can't find any here). It should work like my other ones: Sweetwater had a good setup on them, I change them to my lighter-gauge strings, let it sit for a couple of days and check it. The last one ended up perfect except for a minor intonation adjustment and pickup height setting.
Wifey loved the color scheme....also reminded her of the New Orleans Saints we knew 31+ years ago.
