Epiphone "Fenderbird" Value?

Looking at one in a pawn shop. Epi T-bird body, sans pickguard, with Squier P-bass neck. marked at $150...

Check the intonation. The Fender neck is shorter than the Epi. If the bridge hasn't been moved rearward a bit, the intonation will never be correct.

$150 sounds good if it intonates and everything works.

Sounds like an interesting bass. How does it play? I would be interested if the neck felt good, but then I like the 'Bird body shape a whole lot. If the neck feels good to you, then it is a matter of whether it chooses you or not.

Thx for the tips! I'm new to bass and didn't know about that issue with the fenderbird. I'm fairly certain that it has not had any mod to the bridge.

I photoshopped it first, before buying a neck. I noticed all of the angles and curves followed the features of the body, and had to build it. I might use a similar headstock shape on my next fiver neck-thru TBird.

I agree - it looks really good... I've been toying with the idea of building a Fenderbird for awhile, but would like to do the reverse headstock thing with a lefty neck - I think that would be pretty cool...
