Epiphone Rivoli... '64 vs reissue

A friend of mine has a reissue Epiphone Rivoli which has a push button tone thing. Not sure what it does, but supposedly it causes a lot of noise no matter how it's used and I've heard that people disable it to quiet things up. I notice that an original Rivoli... a '64 let's say... has a toggle switch. What I'm wondering is whether that switch behaved the same way as the push button on the reissue. Does anyone have a schematic for the original? My buddy has a schematic for the reissue, so if I can scare up the schematic for a '64 I can compare.
I'm thinking of buying it from him and replacing the button with a switch but is there more I would have to do to make sound more like the '64? A different resistor or cap? I also see that the '64 had gold knobs and a plain truss rod cover. Has anyone out there made any of these changes to a reissue Rivoli? thanks. - Don

All the originals and reissues had a pushbutton. A toggle would be a replacement or mod. And they don't add noise. They cut bass. (or boost-depending on which position you count as normal)

Ah, I see! I thought the original was toggle. I see now that the reissue has a black button matching the black knobs and the original is gold to match the gold knobs. And I see your schematics. Thanks very much.
