...What bass and amplifier are you using such that you feel you need additional EQ beyond what is available to you already?

1. No tone control on my bass (not even a passive).

2. Genz Streamliner (broad tone control slopes and a strong baked-in voicing)

3. Often need finer, more surgical EQ to deal with room acoustics or placement problems without messing up the basic tone I set on my amp

4. Sometimes want a footswitchable tone change for some songs, or even some parts of a single song.

5. Often want different EQ when I kick in a clean boost, than I want on my un-boosted tone.

My choice? Empress ParaEQ.

Another note, I asked Bongo (resident expert on EQ and compression) what the best EQ pedal was, and without hesitation he said Empress ParaEQ.
