Hello Bass World. I know everyone has their own opinions on Extended Range Basses and are rightfully entitled to do so. My question I have is for all of those people playing extended range basses out there or who have played them in the past. What are your favorite Specs and how do you prefer the bass to be set up? More frets? Less Frets? String Spacing? String Gauges? Body Style? Pretty much anything that has made it more comfortable for you to express yourself on the instrument. I know this can vary for a lot of different people but I am just looking to gather information and any input is appreciated.

Thank You

My favorite so far was a Modulus q6 with 14mm string spacing at the bridge, 27 frets, and a 34" scale. That said, the sixer I'm currently playing is 17mm string spacing, 24 frets, and a 35" scale and I don't find it to be uncomfortable either, though if I were going to get another I'd absolutely go with a 34" scale. Sometimes a 3 fret stretch on the low B and E strings is on the edge of being too much in the first position. Of course, I only play one or two songs in our entire repertoire down there so it rarely effects me.
