He should fire his bass tech.

The tone seems all wrong to me. Doesn't remind me the sublime I know. Sounds too modern almost IMO.

I just watched the Firefly 2015 version of 40oz To Freedom. Same deal...in fact, I also just listened to the studio version. It's the line.

The EQ in the OP video isn't doing note definition any favors.

Sounds like a P Bass to me, but his tone could use a tort guard for sure.
