Ernie Ball Classic Reissues With Slight Issue

I am ALL OVER that vintage white\tort\rosewood! I read on EBMM forum that those may be GC exclusive.
They did a Sterling classic with a 2-band EQ instead. See pictures at the EB-Forums...
The order window opened at NAMM, so they gotta be ordered to be available, figure 2 months at the earliest I'm sure.
I emailed the local EBMM dealer for ETA and price quote. They told me they'd have them approx April.
Just in time for tax returns!!
Yeah, this is why I'll probably end up buying one of these. I'm not nostalgic for slab bodies or two-band preamps, but I've always thought that acre-o-plastic guard on the SR5 is simply awful (I play one anyway, but really). The oval guard on a SR5 is sweet... and the way it always should have been, IMHO.

They should have been done like this in the first place. I love my SR5, but I sure like the way the new ones look! Just when I think I'm done wanting more basses...
god, Sterling Ball is a genius at coming up with new models that are even more tantalizing than the last. There are at least 4 Ball basses I want really bad right now.
A sterling 5, a classic 5, a big Al 4 or 5, and a rosewood neck something or other. I would also really like to pick up a Dargie II with the ebony fboard.
Sure wish they would do a classic with the ebony. May not be period correct, but heck neither is them colors!

Those are the first 5 string MMs that look good to me aside from the SUB 5. The pickguard covering the whole face of the SR5 was an abomination and killed the visual appeal of the SR for me.

I was hoping they'd do a fretless Classic. I need a fretless, and one with mute bridge makes more sense than a non-mute bridge. Used 2band/mute bridge/blank plank Rays are hard to find.
