Ernie Ball Classic Reissues With Slight Issue

Well, if I recall, Sterling Ball said it'd be a cold day in hell before he'd do a "reissue".

While that was true, I guess you missed the part during this economic slump when he said he has employees to pay.

So I ain't complainin'! I've been begging for gloss necks for years. I just hope inca silver makes it into the lineup.

I certainly hope so! That would be the one for me! I have a Natural Maple SR5 HH now but THIS would be super bad in that finish!

Pardon me for sounding stupid, but I haven't kept up with Stingrays since I owned one in '79.

What's the difference?

It has more of the details found on an older EB. Granted you can still get new ones with the 2 band EQ I guess, but there are other things, the truss rod wheel is different than the new ones. String mutes under the bridge. Oh, and it's a 5 stringer!

For some reason when the original 5 string Stingray was made, it was much differnt than the 4 string Stingrays. Different body shape and a ceramic pickup as opposed to alnico (granted, they changed the SR5s to having alnico pickups last year or the year before tho).

As others... I have to agree...

Only play 5-strings - so this is perfect.
Prefer the round pickguard as opposed to SR5 large one - so this is perfect
Been leaning toward a single MM pickup - perfect
Been looking toward an older MM but wanted 5-strings - perfect
Haven't been able to decide between an SR5 or a Bongo - this seems to have made my decision.

The sunburst is gorgeous in my opinion. Anxious and scared to hear the dollar figure.
