I just received some friendly spam from Ernie Ball yesterday. They have a new accessory product and it looks to Me like a very good idea: Strap Blocks | Ernie Ball

I do not see them available anywhere outside of Ernie Ball's online store yet but it does look ingenious.

I, for one, would consider trying them out.

Grolsch washers without the beer. But at least they're available in black. I'm sticking to Dunlops but I know a lot of folks like the Grolsch washers.

Black rubber fender washers are like 35 cents apiece at my local hardware store IIRC. But nothing in that style has ever worked well at all for me, unfortunately.

I have about eight of those from Fender & I stopped using them when they caused the strap-pin to work it's way out. The button spins from being jammed onto the strap by the rubber & then it works the screw out.
Yes, it can be solved by glueing the strap-pin in, but I just use over-sized strap-buttons & then there's no need for those strap-blocks:

This is what ESP, G&L, & Ibanez are doing. So if you buy one of those, no need to do anything.

I've had a Music Man with something similar too. Those things are the poopie, I wonder why more manufacturers don't use them.

Ernie Ball also makes the Super Locks, which are my favorite strap locks. Some would consider them overpriced, and there is probably truth to that. I like the fact they come with screws using the same threading as Fender, EBMM, etc. and just a tad longer. I’ve never had them fail and they don’t rip the threads out of the bass like some others I’ve used.
