EROS BASS GUITAR ANYONE?

Matsumoku, along with other Japanese manufacturers in the 70s, sold their products to dozens of distributors around the world. For each distributor, for each region around the world, they put a different name on the headstock.

So "Eros" was just the decal name chosen by the distributor in your local area.

Never heard of Eros basses, but I used to frequent a Music Store in Waukesha WI many years ago, and the owner had his own line of amps, and speakers.

The brand name was Eros.

Anyone ever seen one of these Eros amplifiers? Link Removed

I used to dread hauling the heavy amps, and speaker cabinets, but they sounded great.

Sorry for the derail.

Hi ... if anybody interested after all this time. I have one. My first bass, bought when I was 14 (I am now 54) for 50 UK pounds in 1974 in the High Street Walthamstow E17 in London. I guard it with my life :o). Interested in it's origin I contacted a site a few years ago (about 5 I think) called (something like that anyway) guitar-axe, but the site seems to have disappeared. Anyway this is what I learned: the bass is Matsumoku made in Japan, and was distributed by Rosetti in the UK in the early seventies. There were several variations made. Mine is a "Mark II" (this probably means it's worth a lot of money .. :o) ))), and it is sort of a guitar like Chuck Berry used to use in the early 60's , meaning it has a large hollow body, with the curls carved out, and a black plate under the strings. I have been planning now for years to have it restored, but have not been round to that yet. If interested, send me a mail, and I'll send you a photo of the bass.. my mail is [email protected] ... greets ... Steve

There's an Eros 412 bass cab for sale on Milwaukee Musical Instrument Exchange on facebook. $450.00
