ESP B-104...your thoughts

as my second bass ever (after a squier p bass) i bought a used ESP B-104 and i really like it. its fairly light, has a thin rosewood neck, 24 frets which for a person who started on guitar is easier, and the love the sound. the range of sound i can get is very good but i really love getting a very full, warm, bassy type sound which i can get by turning the knob to favor the neck pickup more (i think?)

heres the one problem, its not a fender.

i love the look of fenders and i want to be able to interchange pickguards to get a flashy type look that stands out. i really like the jazz bass altho i have yet to try one out personally. is that what will yield me what i am looking for? the jazz bass 24 seems to be the closest and the sunburst is nice but there is no pickguard also.

what are your guys general thoughts on the B 104 and how does it compare to a fender jazz bass?
