Esp Ltd vs Music man SUB

i've been playing a Esp Ltd F105 for about 2 years now.. and i rushed into buying it at the time.. over time i've realised that it sounds decent.. looks good but totally out of place at subtle gigs.. but the real issue is the fretboard.. which widens considerably after the 12th fret and being a 24 fret long scale some times reduces playability due to my shorter arm length..
im considering buying a Music Man SUB sterling stingray 5.but its available only on special order here. and i dont want to risk it. could someone tell me if its a wise decision as cost wise they come in the same range... while i see better playability in the music man with the thinner neck... some things im concerned about..2 band Eq as opposed to the 3 band that i have in the ESP. single Pickup as opposed to 2 on mine..
Please help and suggest some other options too in the same range as im really confused...:confused:

You dont have 3 band on the F105, thats 2band preamp. Id upgrade to the F155dx for the 3band active preamp and basswood with maple top body. Which would give a little bit of added midrange growl and little more bite available. If you find the esp's neck a little uncomfortable though, Id look at 3band active eq Ibanez SR basses. I doubt youd like the subs neck if your having trouble with the esp's. And as youve allready noted, less versatile with single pup.

You maybe mistaking the pup blend control for another tone control. Various pup blends do creatwe diffinate tone changes which when combined with 2 or 3 band eq give a lot of tonal char variations.

Yeah i mixed up the EQ boost with the an EQ band but basically an extra knob(not always) does add to the tone shaping..doubt: are the SUB's fretboard anywhere close to the real stingray? no one mentions that in the reviews.. and thanks for the advice the advice on the ibanez.. will go and check them out. im essentially just looking for something thats more comfortable to play than the ESP and isnt overwhelmingly metal.. tone and look wise...Thanks again.
