Well, the only way to know for sure is to buy a fuzz, OD, delay, octave, LPF, ring mod, chorus, flange, phase, whammy, synth, wah, and after 6 months sell the ones you don't use.

Yes what you need is FUZZ.... maybe. Fuzz it the one effect I always take no matter what the gig or style.
The thing is..... There is much fuzz.... there are many opinions.... you will like some others hate and the other way round....
I think a Big muff or some kind is a good start but not everyone's "it", MANY will now tell you to get a EXH bass big muff, I will not as I don't really like it that much.... see what I mean....
You WILL have to dig though clips [wiki, ect] and vids and reviews. Or find a few stores that have some to try.
I also wont recommend anything inless you a. want a fuzz and b. have some idea of the sound you would want. As I don't like to press my favs onto others just because they work for me. Now if there is a sound you want and I feel that a box that I know of will get it then I will suggest it
