Someone tried this a while back, but got no response, so im gonna do it. Let's se who has the best looking and/or sounding SX. Post pics and sounclips of your SX bass. If its modded, say how its modded. If its stock, say its stock.

Each month, there will be a separate vote. Your bass must be posted before the first of that month. Basses posted in March are voted on in April. Basses posted in April are voted on in May. And so on.

When voting, the word 'vote' must be somewhere in your post. Otherwise, there is no way to tell that it is a vote.

I would post a soundclip if I could, but I don't really have anything now to record into the computer with. But, I can take a picture, so here it is.

It's pretty much stock except the p/g and I sanded some of the radioactice finish off the back of the neck.

The LPB SX is my primary workhorese bass. Mods incude pickguard by pickgaurdian.com in celluloid Tortoise, Fender 62RI pickup, 500K volume & tone pots , pro fret work, recently added after 2 years(not picutred) a Wilkinson bridge.

The Sunburst SX is the backup w/ a Reverend 8.7K??(if I remember right) pickup, 1meg vol pot, allparts faux tort pickguard, and that's about it. Otherwise stock.

My shiny turd:

SX Jazz with block inlay neck, BAII bridge and S/P switch. I have a black PG but I like the white one for now. Sounds incredible.

I just realized: I have an SX bass, a Trace Elliott amp, a Hartke cab and a Behringer effects processor. Is this the most hated combination on Talkbass?

-Fender 62 Reissue Japanese Jazz Bass Pots (2007)
-Custom neck rosewood fretboard, maple fender jazz neck from montreal.
-Black accented with gold knobs
-Custom Aluminum pickguard with "Seishin" kanji (means Spirit)

Amp:
Yorkville XM200T (2x10) combo

(getting extension 1x15 eventually)

What started out as a bang for a buck stuff is slowly getting upgraded to be pretty damn good i think for me. The body is getting replaced with a real fender eventually, with all chrome hardware. Right now it looks kinda different with chrome bridge/aluminum pickguard and gold hardware mixed.

I'll try to post pictures eventually with each upgrade added and sound clip to associate the upgrade, and just progressively go through each upgrade. One day!

WOW! very nice! I myself would prefer black pickup covers, but that looks nice! I love the Olympic White body. I wish they still had those!

How'd it go with the neck switch? I want to put my 5 string '75C neck on my LPB '62 5er jazz body, but it looks like I'll have to do a bit of modifications, such as redrilling the neck bolts and some minor sanding.

Modded SX VPB62 with SD Quarterpounders, BadAssII Bridge w/string through. CTS pots.

Here is the SX SJB-62QMD Fretless I got a few months ago. I replaced the the Stock Pups with Di-Marzio DP123s. The bridge is a Gotoh 201. The strings are GHS Pressure Wounds. Everything else Is stock. I did some work on the fretboard. I sanded it with a 9.5" radius sanding block from Stewart Macdonald and finished the board with boiled linseed oil.
