essex xhort scale

I have a shorscale SX Fretless Jazz. I had planned to get a new bridge, new pups, and a new set of short scale flats for it. I have used it live and received many compliments on its sound. No mods so far. I like it the way it is. All I had to do was set it up and intonate it. :bassist:

I had the 75 Jazz LTD short scale model. Great bass. Much better than the standard in terms of fit and finish. The heftier bridge makes a big difference. And the nice, smooth frets are a pleasure.

I'm a short scale bassist (I do play long scale, but prefer short) and I sing their praises whenever I can. But I'm not a short scale snob. Long scales have their place, right alongside short scales.
