Double Bass EUB blues

Have any of you had any luck using your eub for old school blues. I have an Azola made baby bass strung with Inovation RAB's. I have tryed using many different amps the best sounding being a 2x10 swr cab with a powerblock and a sansamp. The problem is getting enough volume for larger gigs. I have played it thru my Gk 1001/ampeg hlf610 plenty loud but not as good sounding. Any Ideas
Thanks in advance, fat paul

I thing a small cabinet and a high power amp head might be the answer.

I would agree with that. I'm still waiting to hear the new 2x8 cab from SWR, it seems promising for use with the EUB.

Also the Walter Woods amp has a pretty darn nice EQ for upright blues tones

One of the most satisfying EUB blues tones I've ever heard was the old Ampeg B-18, all tube '60's beast I had. 40 watts or so. It was plenty loud....and heavy.

Work with the band for a global balance/EQ that makes everybody happy with the gear they love.

I use a Fishman Pro-EQ Platinum Bass Preamp for tone shaping. You get a 5 band EQ, compression, and depth. I've played it through all kinds of rigs and I've always been able to find a tone I can be happy with.

I have a SansAmp Bass Driver DI and I think the Fishman gives me more options. I can use it for my EUB and my acoustic double bass.

Maybe a different preamp will allow you to play through your larger rig and still get the tone you want.
