Eulogy intro?

How can I get close to the very beginning of the song eulogy by tool? I'm talking about the very beginning where it almost sounds like there isn't bass but there actually is. While Adam jones is doing his thing with the string taps/harps or whatever you call it. I have a micro pog so I'm thinking this could give the desired effect to an extent. Enough to pull it off live anyway. Thanks all!

you need a harmonizer with a 5thup/6thup option.

he uses a digitech bass whammy, but those can cost upwards of 700 bucks. some cheaper solutions would be a boss gt6b(probably the gt10b too) a line6 m9 with expression pedal, or the eventide pitchmod with an expression pedal.

Line 6 M5 has that as well for about $129. Tons of other very usable effects with an expression pedal. PM me Greg if you want more info.

Yeah, sorry but you need a pitch altering effect to do a 5th/6th up sound. No other way really.
