EV B 215-M Cab?

when you recone speakers you can't change the watts that is in the magnet and voice coil chamber. my 1979 evb215m cab still has the same drivers 400watt 15L's with the heat sink/vent on the magnet. not the oem 200 watt versions. as long as they do not dryrot they will last for 40 years easy. I might recone mine this year, I have 3 backups that I bought from ebay and reconed and they sound great.I have many cabs and this ev cab is the best I have ever heard, I run a warmoth jazz bass with lindy fraling pickups and a ampeg svt vr all tube head, di"addario nickle strings 105-50 and all monster cables. bass players all over the state of pennsylvania grow very envy when hearing me live. not bragging but my tone is awesome and have had a few people try to steal my rig and many more offer me thousands of dollars for it. now I did modify the crossover and attenuator in mine but still have all the original speakers, eminence 1.6 crossover and 50 watt attenuator. this thing is loud as hell and sounds sweet. if you hit it hard with attack from your fingers it's geddy lee from 78-80 all over again. rush tone for rock, modern counrty tone,and 70's funk all in one. if you see these cabs buy it right now they are very very rare.

here is my specs my cab was made in 1979 2 ev15L's 400 watt versions with the big heatsink on the magnets, 1 vmr 6.5 inch midrange speaker I had to put a new crossover in the cab just for the 6.5 at 1.6 htz and a 25 watt attenuator. I wired the 2 15's to 4 ohms and tagged the croosover after the 15's the 6.5 runs at 8hms and 215's run at 4 so my svt see 4 ohms. cab is awesome will kick the crap out of any cab in the world including the bergie 215 and mesa 215. this is the best, cab is made out of birch ply and won't break. the original speakers are still going strong into 2013 have not been reconed yet. I have back up ev 15l's that I reconed with the ev kits but never had to use them anyone wants to buy them hit me up I 6 of them. I have had my cab up against the newer cabs like ampeg 810's, bergie 215, hartke hydrive 810's etc this evb215m will make them sound very poor. ev are the best bass speakers you can find. I recently tried the fatail pr400 15;s in this cab and the speakers didn't have the defintion like the ev15L's but did sound good
