Eventide Timefactor Delay Pedal

nice. what are your favorite settings? what do you love about the pedal? what do you hate about it?

Am really loving this pedal a lot as it gives the kind of flexibility of rack gear but everything can be adjusted on the fly. Favourite settings for me are the reverse delay using some unusual/extreme settings which give some of the Eventide 'Steve Vai-style' feedback with strange harmony-like delayed notes, the Looper (at last I have one! ;o) and the ring modulator style noises on the last pre-set (have got to experiment with these noises some more).

The rest of the delays are all amazing of course, but just wanted to point out it can do some quite unusual sounds as well that I wouldn't normally associate witha delay pedal.

Also of note is that there is a Modulation setting which gives flange/chorus sounds too, so that increases it's buyability quite considerably.

Only negative could be that you feel kind of guilty using a straight-delay on it as it can do so much more!

Important note for buyers on this:
The pedal can be powered on a One-spot, but I would recommend only powering this one pedal with it as I encountered some noise with other pedal in line with it. Powered on its own, there is Zero noise probably due to the pedal needing 1200mA, with the max on the One spot being 1700mA.
Also, the reverse polarity adaptor will be required from One-spot which plugs right in.

Does anyone know where I can buy a Time Factor that is "in-stock" on-line? I have looked all over the place and can't find anyone that has them in stock.

Another cool feature that is unique to this pedal is the ability to sync to midi clock. I don't think any other pedal can do this.

The guitar player in our band got a Time factor over the weekend. We've had a chance to play with it, and it does sound really sweet, and as feature rich as they come...BUT!

one problem that needs to be mentioned...is that there is a definite "dead spot" when changing patches or presets...close to 1/2 a second..which is noticable. We looked on the Eventide website to see if there were patches or updates for the Time Factor, but couldn't find any.

This is bugging the hell out of my guitar player...and I really don't blame him. I'm curious if Eventide has had complaints from other customers about this...I will let you know what we find out.

OK, well my buddy just called me and said he spoke to Eventide about the "dead spot" problem when changing patches...they know about it and are working on a patch to fix it. They told him it would be a month or so before the patch was avaiulable...
