Ever return to your first flame? I have.

A Hondo was my first flame. P-style Lefty All-Star, black w/black pickguard and a maple fretboard. At the time no one informed me that you could adjust the action. You could have driven a truck between the strings and neck. I'd actually like to stumble across it again some day.

I hope folks know I was just kidding.
My first flame was a Sears Silvertone, but my 7th or 8th flame was a black Hondo Explorer bass with a single P pickup.
I loved that bass, right up until the A-string machine head failed at a gig & wouldn't allow me to bring the string up to proper pitch - it just kept slipping gears.
That was the first & only bass that I ever gave the "Pete Townshend" treatment to. :dead:

I have an Ibanez roadstar 2 that I got in 1986 (my first) I played it for many years and liked it's tone, but eventually got bored and moved on. Several higher end basses bought and sold later, and I gained a new appreciation for that ibanez. It is my only bass at the moment.

On the other hand..my old human flame that I returned to didn't turn out so well. I got burned..again

I'm constantly searching for my first real bass. Yamaha Motion B, black, chrome HW, EMG pups, ebony FB (or dark RW), 2 + 2 tuners, without the cheesy 80's YAMAHA MOTION B graphic on the front.

Have seen models that have at least one of the requirements missing. Closest I came was one in lavender, which would clash with my magenta keytar.

Glad to see your old friend is back in business.

22 years ago my first bass was a '95MIM P. Still got it and though it's been modded to heck and back it's a keeper that continues to deliver everything I could want from a P-bass.
