Ever Seen LEDs On A Freless Neck Before?!

The Carvin in the original post, and my Sei have built in LED's - not some crappy stick on rubberised jobs matey!!

I have had the LED's fitted as standard in most of my basses when I had them made.

Ummm, Matey look at the Carvin in the original post AGAIN. It has FretFx on it. Look at the back of the headstock and you can see the battery box/control. Its a newer FretFx with the machined aluminum battery box. I was not referring to your SEI. I shold have stated I have never personally seen a fretless with LEDs. Seen them on the web etc.
As for the FretFx being crappy rubberized jobs they are actually pretty decent. I bought some for my guitarist last year for Christmas to put on his Gibson Les Paul. You can barely tell that they are stick on and are great when playing in a dark night club. Of course the ideal is to get a custom guitar made with LEDs. But for a quick add on they work great.

Yeah, I realised they were FretFX add-ons after I posted that - that's why I said I hadn't noticed in tthe next post I made.

Don't they feel kind of odd when playing?

Oh yeah - just seen that on closer inspection - surely they must feel "gummy" if you wrap your thumb around the top end of the neck?

The correctly installed LED markers as on the Warwick Jack Bruce and my Sei are far more elegant - completely non evident until they are activated.

Actually you cannot feel that they are there. They are flat fiber optics. It's very expensive to add LEDs to a guitar once it has been constructed. Look at Sims website

the FretFX are about $80 US dollars rather that around $650 US dollars for the Sims custom LED. If I had money shooting out my ears I would send all of my bass necks to be fitted!

I've played an Alembic fretless with LED's before.

It's not really anything odd-it's just a more visible way of marking positions.

Actually, if I'd had the money at the time, I would have bought that bass. It was easily in the top 5, maybe top 3, that I've ever had the chance to play.
