Every Bass player needs a Theme Song

and Chuck Rainey.

Lou Donaldson?

I don't know who played the bass, but it sounds like two distinct tracks, one main, and one for fills. Not sure if Quincy added the fills later or what. He said he wrote in in 20 minutes recorded it in another 20 minutes with four musicians. Link Removed

Pipeline, the version SRV and Dick Dale played for the surf spoof Back to the Beach. It's one of the first bass lines I learned for surf, and it's double-time compared to every other bass line I've heard for this tune.

This version, to quote Dick Dale, is the most bitchin' version ever cut!!

Love it!
