Every Get Excited Over a Gig?

Well, childish as it may seem, I get excited over every gig, small or large.

I haven't played out in about 17 or 18 years. A while back my wife questioned me keeping my amps, 3 bass guitars and 6 other guitars. She felt if I wasn't using them, I should sell them and both have extra money and free up space. I told her if I turned 50 and wasn't playing I'd sell them. Well, turned 50 last August and got two different bands I play out in - One country and one classic rock covers.

Just the fact that I can still keep up and they like my playing is exciting to me and I forgot how much I enjoyed getting up on stage.

The most excited I ever got was when my band opened for Michael McDonald at the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta.:hyper:

The biggest night of the biggest event of the year.

100,000 plus in the audience that stretched about 5 blocks on the 4-lane Kanawha Boulevard.

It's all been pretty much downhill from there.

To clarify, I do get excited over every gig, just this one makes me SOOO excited I can hardly contain it.

Anyways, the gig went great aside from a small fuse issue (the speaker fuse assembly is not making good contact, easy fix) during sound check. We got picked-up for a larger private party next year for 3x the money. Man it was loud, 250+ private parties all with bands or DJ's, free alcohol and free BBQ, scantily clad beautiful Texas cowgirls all over the venue, thousands of people heard us...gotta love it. God Bless Texas!!!

Some more than others - but

YES - Almost every one!

This past weekend was a serious adrenaline rush - far beyond many we have done - and the players had it so energized! The Crowd really picked up on it and the juice was really moving - each feeding off of the other (crowd/bands) It was an all day BLues fest pig roast that was on par with many large venues I have been at! Its why we do that voodoo we do!
