I love the fact that alot of bass players are "downsizing".
Between that and the economy, over the past year or so I have picked up 3 big Mesa cabs on the cheap (2 RR's and 1 PH).

I feel ya there man. I've scored myself **WHAT I CONSIDER** a hell of a rig... a Peavey 1516, a Peavey 118D, pushed by a Peavey Mark VIII, all for dirt cheap.
As far as downsizing, of course I've considered it many times, but I agree with the guy who started the thread, I like the look and feel of a pure powerhouse behind me!! (Every time I consider downsizing, I just buy four casters and build a dolly in woodshop... no joke)
I also know that for some reason, we bassists go into a show head full of steam, strong as hell... and for some reason... when it comes time to tear down, what you lifted with one arm coming in requires two or three fans assisting you with on the way out!!
But music genre is one of your main factors in the situation, one of the others being the amount of PA support you are going to have at your show.
Thanks guys for allowing me to waste 15 seconds of your lives.
Peace & Love,
d
.is any one else using a similar combo? would be interested to hear about it. Cheers!
