Everything has improved except....

Can't buy it in my local stores unless you randomly choose the right store and are there at opening in the early morning, lined up, and it sells out within 20 minutes for that day.

A 30 pack for my family lasts about a week.... me, my wife, 3 daughters. it's a big deal!

And yet they make it all locally, it's just that folks are being so incredibly dumb about buying it, and it forces the REST of us to act equally dumbly and buy it out because otherwise we're left with nothing due to the first round of paranoid purchasers.

It's so frustrating having to react at their level, but it's a question of self preservation!

Now - as far as evolution - the stuff we buy is WAY nicer than what we had when I was a kid. So I think it has evolved somewhat.

And whoever said it is bad in other countries and we should help them with the quality of their TP, I totally agree - there are countries where the TP is truly awful.

oh - and if you don't think that threads dealing with real life issues of living at home in these very odd times are important, please don't keep wasting your typing by telling us as much. It's important to some of us, and if not to you then why are you bothering to comment?

There is comparatively nearly zero bandwidth or storage wasted on these threads - the storage is in the Kb for text, bandwidth is nothing compared to everyone streaming video from home these days.

Thanks, I feel much better now! :-D

Toilet paper!! Do you realize that throughout the ages, toilet paper has not changed at all? Its just paper on a cardboard roll, and in 10,000 years, it will still be the same; because what else can they do? But we now have a problem, there is a shortage!! We need to make a change! What can we do?

Are you making this statement or are you just channeling George Costanza. This thread was resolved on Seinfeld ages ago.

Everything has improved except Airports.
And Belt buckles, and guitar straps.
And our response to pandemics apparently.

I like PlanetWaves straps - they are pretty good. I only have one and just move it. I used another type of strap before that clipped together but one time in ten would catch my skin with it.

Airports are better - you can charge stuff and they have WiFi.

Belt buckles - I am wearing a belt that is pretty much identical to a 1940s US Army one. So I will give you that one as this is about as good as it gets.

There is no shortage. There are imbeciles who think it's wise to stock up with a year's worth. They clean out the shelves and create a 'shortage'. I do not get it. They still make the stuff, and you're still going to use it at the same rate. And besides, it's not like it's going to save them a trip to the store next week. They're still going to need food.

There isn't really a supply problem with TP. We had an article in our paper the other day about this. There's a plentiful supply, it's regularly being manufactured, and there's enough for everybody. The problem is people are panick buying and hoarding it. The first round of people overreacted, cleared the shelves, and screwed everyone else, forcing the rest of us to buy as much as we can. One target I was in has security at the paper products aisle. We just got the stay home order, so it's not going to get any better. Ugh. :rage:
