EVM 15b OEM (in a GK 115B cab) power rating?

That’s fine, not going to hurt anything. Both drivers are plenty robust for that kind of guitar application.

though I've been warned about feeding guitar frequency into a bass speaker it sounds huge.
Just to be clear, the only harm that might result in feeding guitar frequencies into a bass speaker is that it might not sound good -- there's no particular risk of damage as long as the power handling capabilities aren't exceeded. OTOH, there CAN be risk associated with feeding bass frequencies into a guitar cab.

It's OK, I do know this. Hmm.. though I used to play bass through a '62 Vox AC30 about a hundred years ago (1979), to get the trem/vibrato channel Chris Squire thing.

I have used the EV 15B ( 2 of them ) , for many years, in some homebuilt enclosures, I built those cabinets according to the EV design plans, they worked well, when using a Traynor YBA-3, and a Crate BT-350, really didn't have volume issues, but with today's amps, and the headroom available, you really need to be careful, as the chance of cooking those voice coils is very real, as a side note, a few years ago, I acquired an old Ampeg V4-B cabinet, had really no idea what was in it, the first run of that cabinet line usually had "Altec's" in it but I read, that the later years they were installing EV15L's in them, I pulled the grill off and the access panels, and low & behold ...a pair of EV15L's, they sound pretty good, I really don't gig this cabinet, as it's just too big, and the throw is pretty far, but one must remember, those old speakers were developed, when amps were 100-300 watts RMS

Lucky man! I'd love to throw a 15L in the GK bin I have, though it appears I'm unlikely to damage the oem EVM-15B in current application. Cabs I have are a TL606 and an 806. Both amps are pretty tame. The Boogie is a mere 50 watts, the Gnome bass head runs about 140 watts @ 8 Ohms load.

Gone are the days of SVT + Fridge, or a whopper Altec scoop cab...
