Excellent "hidden" Ampeg Venture sound samples

Maybe everyone already has seen this, but I discovered there's a second Venture page with 12 amazing demos:

Anyhow: this "new to me" page has sound samples in a band mix that really sell the amps, IMO. I can't stress how much I like these. I'm playing them on repeat. To see them, scroll 1/3 of the way down the page - they're kind of hidden:



My personal favorites: Classic Vintage B15 and Modern B15. They mirror what I experienced trying a V7 for 10 minutes in a store. It was tons of fun and got great sounds from it.

Anyone have settings to share, how you get these tones?

I enjoyed Modern Chordal Clarity and Everything, though I don't play or sound like that myself.
I like the sound of Smooth Jazz the most. I think it's a good sign that it says this is with everything set flat. I mean, I have had amps that needed extreme settings (those with Fender-type tone controls), leaving little additional flexibility.

My combination isn’t represented! it’s great though, a V7 and 4x10.

I play it dead flat, or with the B15 engaged and just a little fir. The XLR out works well too.

That's how I was testing it in the store and it sounds great with EQ flat. I really like the compressor, even turning it up for some extreme effects. I really only need a V3, but I'm thinking about the V7 just to get the comp.

You're welcome. I realized I'd discovered a hidden gem with this page.

The demos are interesting in more than one way - the Classic Overdriven SVT gives us insight into what Ampeg considers to be that sound. (Versus the dozens of emulators and chatter online.)

I'm curious about your choices as they sorta sound the same but just different playing technique. The modern sounds like short scale with flats or nylon strings played with a pick while the classic sounds like a p bass with flats played with fingers.

how do you describe your choices?

I liked both the svt sounds with the classic overdriven sounding like the mid to late 80s.

Pour me a Smooth Jazz set up, Mr. Barkeep. If that were the only tone I could get fro the amp, a LOT of variation could come from just technique on the bass itself.
