Extended Range Bass Club Thread (Part 2)

I'm almost due to replace strings on my GTBD-7. For those with 7-strings (and tune at Low B, as opposed to Low F#)... What guage of strings do you use? I plan to order Snakeskins from Conklin. They come in 2 different guage sets. Does anyone know the guage that comes with the GTBD-7? [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

(.018, .025, .035, .055, .080, .110, .135)
(.022, .027, .047, .067, .087, .107, .127)
Is the heavier guage intended for the Low F# setting?

I posted a request to be given a number (back on page 20) and, while I got a number (THANKS!) I was supposed to have posted a pic of my guitars (ESP LTD B-206SM and B-336SR) but didn't do it... so here they are (and one with my basses and my rig)

No, both are for B-F. The .018 is a oplain steel, the .022 is a wound. A .022 wound is tight and near it's breaking point, i prefer a lighter plain steel which is also stronger.
The top set is heavy bottom light top, ideal for more progressive techniques like chords, tapping, bending. The E is tightest with tension falling off above and below.
The bottom set is traditional type tension tension and has the D tightest and tension falling off above and below.
I would recommend the top set.

Just got this early Christmas present. I'm making the jump, and it's been a bit easier than I expected. It's an Ibanez BTB1006E. Bolt neck, Bartolini pickups, nice bwompy tone.

Anyone have recommendations for nickel rounds for one of these? Looking for a tone somewhere between John Myung on Awake, Thomas Miller on The Divine Wings of Tragedy, and Jack Bruce on his Thumb at the Cream Reunion concert.

Mediocre pic. Will get better pics tomorrow.

I mentioned on the sx thread I intend to get the ash version of this--it has black binding & black blocks on the neck. I want to swap the necks. Put the black blocks neck on this black body. Cheap thrills. Not much to boast about but hey it's fun.
