Extension Cab Suggestions for Walkabout Scout?

Hello!

I am seeking a 4ohm extension cab for my walkabout scout.

Something small like 2 10's or 1 '12 if it exists (besides the walkabout extension cab) I need a little extra power without the size. Would love the Walkabout extension but can never find one and I can't afford one right now unless its 300 or less.

According to what I've read from some of the speaker gurus, you should probably get another 12" to match the one you have. When they're stacked, you'll get a better balanced tone.

Check the TB Amps For Sale forum. There's a 2x12 Avatar for $300.
Probably some more if you keep an eye out.

+1 for the Avatar SB 112 neo. Not the smallest of cabs, but small/light enough and sounds great.

Do you all know if a 250 Watt Avatar Cab will work with my 300 Watt Walkabout?

I used an Aguilar GS112NT with my WA 12 for a while. I didn't like the tone qualities of the Aggie too much personally, but it did do what a ext cab should do in general .. let the amp push more air and deliver a bigger sound. I'd guess that the the GS112 with the tweet would be a better fit.

I have also used a Mesa PH 1x12 and liked that much better than the Aggie 1x12. But, I did end up selling it too.

Chef uses an older Mesa Diesel cab or two with his WA and seems to like it very much.

I currently use the Mesa Scout 15 ext, and really like the 12+15 combination.

The walkabout scout 15 is big enough that I don't want one:
I'd rather have the walkkabout head and other cabs, at that size.

As pfschim noted, I like my old Mesa Diesel 115 under there. Big, but old school, tone and volume.

What to recommend kinda depends on: "do you like the stock walkabout scout sound?"

If so, a tweeterless 112 or 115 would be good.

If you want some more top end sheen, look for a 112 or 115 with a decent horn.
Mesa Vintage Powerhouse stuff would go real good with it.
