I usually block people that keep sending me invites.

Facebook really needs to create a way to block notifications for invites to events. Just keep an updated list that I can look at occasionally. If I could at least block the ones I get on a daily basis from bands that are 500+ miles away from me I might actually start paying attention to the other ones.

On a side note, a couple months ago I got 5 separate invites from some woman's "updating address book" event. You got a new address book? Sweet! So I should be there at 7pm on Thursday...where exactly is it? Oh yeah, it's at Facebook. Let's see if Siri knows how to get there...

When I send out invites, I carefully select who gets them. No one who isn't local and no one who never responds or shows up. The last thing anyone wants to do is be annoying.

You can block events from whomever you choose. That's what I meant, I block certain people from sending me events.

I don't block them... I'm not friends with that many musicians aside from the ones in my bands, so only 3 or 4 send me invites to their gigs. It's useful to see what kind of gigs other people can get, and how well they draw.

I had no idea you could do that! I never respond unless I'm going to a particular event, so I'd never seen that option before...

For those of you that are as ignorant as me about some of the features of FB, after you decline an invitation, you can click on the minus sign next to "you declined" and select "Ignore invites from xxxxx".
