Remember when there was this kind of mass-hysteria amongst FB users because of the obviously idiotic and easily debunked rumor that FB was going to start charging people a subscription fee?

I think I'm to start a rumor that FB will, starting May 1st, remove privacy settings on all accounts and send your personal information directly to registered sex offenders.

I find the anti-facebook brigade rather funny. The people who waste their entire day on Facebook would just find a different tool to procrastinate with if it wasn't there.

Seriously, to anyone who thinks Facebook is pointless/a waste of time, have you actually looked at how useful it can be? I, personally, use Facebook to arrange things with the guys in my lab, inform the society I run of upcoming events through a "group" on there, and keep in contact with people on the other end of the world. If there is another way of doing all of this so conveniently, just point me to it.

The people who spend 15 hours a day on Facebook weren't going to be productive members of society anyway
