the integra that billy gould plays was a gift from cliff burton...the peavey amps he played through was a t.b. raxx unit...there have been several go through here on the for sale forums over the years
I read in an interview with him that for at least the record The Real Thing he used a Peavey 4x10 with blown speakers because of the extra grit it added. In the same interview he said he was experimenting with slapping a lot at the time and I know he did it on some of the tracks, but not necessarily all of them. And as far as using Alembics, he may have, he may not have, but I know another band of Mike Patton's, Mr. Bungle, the bass player has and uses several Alembics.
Seen Faith no more live back in 98, and he didn't use a pick. I HAVE seen him use one in other videos, though so I 'm guessing he picks and chooses as mood dictates.

Actually just the song "The Real Thing" has the blown speaker.
He slapped on several songs on the Real Thing(Underwater Love, Woodpecker From Mars, Falling to Pieces) and a few on Angel Dust(Everything's Ruined, Crack Hitler).
Trevor Dunn of Mr. Bungle only has one custom made Alembic Europa 5 string. Not several.
His tone is wicked, almost painfully so at times. I like the bass's part in Faith No More's music. I haven't heard some of these songs in a long time...
Go to youtube and check the video of ashes to ashes, he is playing a Zon and the tone is amazing. I don't know if he had switched to ampeg at that point.
Maybe the most underrated band ever... and he is a key part of it. Great tone and player. Saw them in 89 on that tour and were probably the best band I have ever seen.

All the nu-metal (ik) bands tout FNM as inspiration, for example. This is something Patton hates, especially papa roach and linkin park, lol.

I count them as my favorite band of all time. Angel Dust is my favorite record ever.
