Fake?

Educate us on what to look out for on a fake
Truss rod access, truss rod wrench size, body thickness, decal typefaces, serial number, neckplate, neck pocket and neck heel markings, pot sizes, mismatches between body and neck (for example a bound neck on a "pre CBS", wrong), pick up spacings on a J... too much to list.

If it rings your alarm bell, deep dive and ask everybody you can possibly ask. Some fakes are sold in good faith by owners who believe it's genuine. Some, are just theft attempts.

Actually, bamboo is exceptionally strong. Laminated, it would probably make quite a good bass neck
Yes it does.

Yep it's a fake.
Headstock shape is wrong
Body shape especially the bottom horn is wrong
Bridge is a 7 screw bridge
Pickguard is only 8 screws and poorly cut
A MIA Fender Jazz would have had the truss rod adjust at the heel not the head stock
String tree is unlike any I ever saw on a Fender
The finish on this bass looks like what you would get on Japanese basses from the 60's not a 2007 MIA Fender
The neck heel protrudes awfully far from the pocket, fairly certain that neck didn't originate on that body
