Double Bass False Nut

After spending a little more time getting used to the new feel and look of my false nut and moving the bridge north, I'm happy to say its a complete success. I couldn't be happier.

It's still a bit weird when I look at my left hand, but happily I rarely do. The difference in my intonation and ease of playing is tremendous. Lisa at LA Bassworks is a killer. A woman with skills.

Do you need a low B or maybe even a low Bb?
If you have any capos or a fingered extension they need to be moved as well. And if you want to keep the low C as the lowest note the extension fingerboard needs a false nut too.
If you want to go lower you need an additional capo. Not a good idea with an existing fingered extension because you need one more key and stop.

I have seen false nuts used to shorten the mensure. Never done it personally though.

Yes, but I assume the false nut was added before the extension was put on.
