False String?

I purchased a set of LaBella flats a while back and I'm beginning to wonder if the G string is false? It has a kind of subtle warbly sound, almost like a very light chorusing effect, and the notes around the 2nd-5th frets seem to buzz more than usual. I'm also having to set up my bridge thusly in order for it to intonate properly:

Could you have twisted it putting it on? Witness points seated properly? Check the pickup's not too high...
The distance between the string and the pickup pole is a little over 1/4". Everything seems to be seated properly at the nut and bridge. I always "break" the strings over the witness point at the bridge with my thumb. As far as it being twisted, I don't think that's the issue
