Fame Baphomet-4??

Wow, its an imitation Warwick. Bubinga/maple, MEC electronics, Fortress like shape... Sure looks like a Warwick to me.

I would say it's an Corvette Standard 4 copy, not a Fortress, it has (as far as I can see in the specs) the same pu's and electronics, it's also made out of Bubinga and it looks more like a Corvette......(just an observation;) )

I bought a Fame Baphomet 4 back in January, and love it. I play it through an Ashdown 200w 4x10, and get a fabulous range of sounds out of it.

Action is very smooth, and is a pleasure to play.

Note; I have had no experience of more expensive high-end basses, so can't compare to the warwicks mentioned previously.

The only complaint I have with it is the rather cheesy "Fame" logo on the headstock. I mean, come on.... Fame!?!? But oh well, I can live with that. Could always take a very fine sandpaper to it.

Bass arrived to me in perfect condition, no complaints there.

Edit: Oh yeah, this bass is one heavy mutha. After a 3 hour gig, you'd better be ready to persuade your better half to give your shoulder some of that TLC!

About the Rockbass thing: I wouldn't. Alder over exotic wood? Naaah..., well not in this case anyway.

I met a few guys with Warwicks, and they really were angry. It was better (My and their oppinion) than the cheaper Warwicks, and if it wasn't better than the more expensive ones, it was muuuuch cheaper while the specs were the same. My babe really rocks. It has everything I need: the sound and the easines of playing. The neck is quite fast.

Bodo is bodo, bubinga is just another kind of exotic wood.

I hate the Fame logo too. They screwed up with the export thing. I have a stylish M (stands for Mayones) although The "Mayones" always made me laugh. :)

They make them in the adjacent city (30KM from here). I have to tell them that they caused a lot of confusion with the export brand.

Hey!

Sounds very neat! Could you (try) to describe the sound? (I know it's not easy  )Does it have growl? Is it punchy? etcetc...
And my better half? Hmm.....well i'm 16 so....maybe my girlfriend could give me a massage:D

Hello,

Fame basses are handmade for Musicstore Cologne. The are made in Poland by Mayones.
They have original Mec pu's and Gotoh hardware.
They look and sound fantastic, close to a Warwick.
I had the 5-string version, but I stupidly sold it and bought a G&L Tribute.

Grzz.
