no, not even once. he always used Ernie Ball nickel rounds, from the 45-105 to the 55-115 he uses now, because he says that playing an instrument should be like a sport, so he likes to use hard strings.
Greetings... I am generally a jazz bass kinda player using rounds wound strings... Dr's however, I recently acquired an American Deluxe P/J set up, and I am SO digging that sound. My question is, do you think Alphonso Johnson used flats on w/Weather Report on Tale Spinning and Mysterious Traveler... I am thinking of going with flats because I am digging how "rubbery and woody" that sound is.thanks for any thoughts!
