Famous bassist strings and their gauges

READ!

Befor
e anyone says "It's all in the fingers" or "You have to be____Himself" or "You have to have your own style". I'm just making this list to help anyone that needs reference, on what strings did their favourite bassist use , maybe they want to try it, and see if that works for them. Maybe If the strings works for their Idol/Hero, It might work for them as well. There are a lot of famous bassist, so I will try to update this list once In awhile, and I know some bassist use more than one type of strings, and I will try to update that aswell.

This list is fairly accurate, I take some of the Info from the web and TB as well, but I can't guarantee you that this is 100% accurate.

Feel free to add correction and Information of the bassist's Strings and Gauges.
Please use this format, If you can please give me the type of strings as well(Roundwound,Flatwound, etc)

John Deacon
Strings: light gauges of Rotosound flats (40-100)

Mccartney in the Beatles days used Maxima flats 40 on the Rickenbacker, and Rotosound short scale, the Jazz77 before Abbey Road, and then TruBass88 on some recordings of Abbey Road and Let It Be.
Now on his Rickenbacker he has Thomastik JF344 flats.

But did Mccartney also use Pyramid, or do I need to erase it.

I didn't know Cliff Burton used extra light strings. But it would have made soloing a lot easier. Thank you Fabian_Aryo for the insight.
You're Welcome Well, that's what I get from Wikipedia, which make sense, since he did a lot of crazy bends.

Anyone know Peter Steeles? I know he used DR black beauties at the end but Im curious what he used prior to that, anyone with knowledge please share.
I read In the web that he uses Dean Markley roundwound, not sure what gauges.
