this here's one o'dem music related varmints. bassists, to boot. git on over yonder whar ye belong, dadgummit.
Dave Barry had a band, and all members were noted authors - add whoever played bass for that group to the list 
Jimmy Fallon (Saturday Night Live) has an album out. I can't recall if he played guitar or bass.
i know steven king was in that band, who knows, coulda been him. i could see him with a BC Rich.
If JT can handle one o' those 8 stringed monstrosities with his "woman hands", think of how many strings Shaq could handle!!!!

No really I think RJ counts as a pro.
Bill cosby Considers himself a drummer.
Spike Lees Sister is a good double bass player.(she is in his first movies)
Arsinio Hall is a electric bass player.
I dont know if he plays but Bernie Macs got a P bass hanging in back of him every time the get him in naritive mode on his show

I can remember seeing Tupac Shakur (RIP) playing elec. bass in a movie.. I think he really WAS playing.. Sounded pretty good.

Randy Jackson is a pro bassist and producer, do a search for his discography. He has an instructional video out, and used to have a Peavey signature bass, the "Randy Jackson" model, in the early nineties.
Actually Tony Blair is famous for playing Guitar
- not bass!! So - I've seen several TV things where he is playing guitar and showing 10 Downing Street with a Fender Strat which is Tony's!!

Well he may have done at some time in the past - but ever since he has been in office or "famous" he has been well-known in the UK as a guitarist playing a Fender.

On May 11 Mick Jagger, Pete Townshend and David Bowie put their heads together and decided to give British Prime Minister Tony Blair a 1957 Stratocaster, from the collection that Townshend donated to Oxfam to raise cash for its emergency relief programs in Mozambique and Ethiopia.
The instrument, which once belonged to Eric Clapton, was expected to bring in more than 10,000 pounds in an Internet auction, but Townshend and friends took it off the block by chipping in an "an unspecified, but astronomical" price for Blair, who is an avid guitarist.
Much to their surprise, Blair declined the gift, and returned it to Oxfam, in the hope that it will raise even more money with his name attached to it . . .
