Is there a Live Sound FAQ? Im looking for really the basics, like plug this in here, plug that that there etc.
Ive got my first real gig this weekend and just discovered that no-one is the band has any clue when it comes to PA.
This isnt my band. Ive come in on bass at the last minute and just assumed the Band Leader had a clue, but it turns out that were going to the pub with our rehearsal room PA. An ancient 8 channel Peavey powered mixer, and some homemade 12 inch speaker boxes. Fine for jamming, but I have a feeling its going to be woefully inadequate for a real gig. The gig is paying less than it would cost to hire a PA so no-one was really keen on that idea.
So any tips on how I can avoid making this worse than it sounds?
