Fattest, hottest, passive pickups for a Jazz Bass

I have the really crazy parts Jazz. It's ugly in all the best ways. The swirl paint job shares a color scheme with a local university, so it's a big hit when I whip it out. I've never been a huge fan of stock Jazz pickups. I love a P. But a Jazz has always been kinda "meh" to me. I want some stupid hot, fat, J pickups for this beast. But I plan to keep it passive....maybe so the series/parallel switch.

So, what say you? What's an all out beast of a J pickup?

The fattest one I had is what Fender put on those Fender Jazz Specials with those big pole pieces. I played a bass with a Geezer and some hot SD but whatever Fender did, it is hotter than any of those. My Jazz bass has Bartolini B-Axis and I think it is similar to the hot one from Nordstrand (NJ4?) and still that Fender pickup is much hotter. But I am no expert by any means. Had been a 3.5 decade Bartolini user

Duncan's SJB-2 Hot for Jazz Bass would probably do the trick. I had the P-bass version, and it was extremely thick and fat-sounding, so if they take the same approach to the Hot for J, I bet you'd dig it. If you're willing to spend more, then some overwound Lindy Fralins would be fantastic.

I have a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound neck pickup in the parts bin if you want a high output Jazz pickup for cheap.

I have a set of Nordstrand NJ4's in my Jazz bass. They aren't giving me the sound I was looking for when I installed them but they sound so good I don't really feel like taking them out. They are the first Jazz bass pickups that to me get close to a P bass sound.

Exactly, if your into the P bass tone nothing will get you closer then Model J’s. I have one Jazz bass with them for just that reason, loud and heavy. I also have them in my fretless Jazz bass but it’s a P/J configuration, but still the same tone as J/J with these pups, I get compliments all the time with my fretless tone.
