That P bass on the right is more or less my ideal bass. What color is it? Port wine or something? Is that a parts bass?
It is a parts bass. The finish is Midnight Wine, which I believe is discontinued. The neck is a Genuine Fender replacement P bass special, thus Jazz Bass profile. It has a Wilkinson brass saddle bridge, Dunlop nickel rounds.
It's sort of my twist on a Duck Dunn, and I'm pretty happy.

It's basically an American Professional Jazz with a solid Rosewood neck and vintage tuners. A special Guitar Center model.

I just picked it up. Mega happy about it so far.

I was waiting a pretty long time for a cool and somewhat unique J-bass. I especially like natural necks with no finish. Shell Pink is pretty rad. Most importantly, my wife just gave birth to our first child - a little girl.

Yep, this is the bass I was waiting for!
