That is a custom made bass for U2's Adam Clayton for the PopMart tour. I'm trying to remember the luthier...he had LOTS of amazing instruments

Since I first laid eyes on these, I was intrigued. Well...now I own one! Easily the most comfortable bass I play and such an amazing array of tones. They illicit a reaction one way or another...I personally love them~
There was a time when I was looking for a Tune WB6.
As you can see,I am a Tune aficionado.
I really like Yamaha's take of classic bass guitar design with BB models. My favorite is second gen, X variation. It's classy and unique.

Agreed. First saw Colin Edwin playing a blacked out Bongo on a Porcupine Tree Blu-ray and thought it was a perfect fit for the band. Looks modern but not outlandish.
66 Mosrite Ventures bass. I craved one of these as a teen, from the time they were new. Lusted after them. Gorgeous.
Then, when I finally was able to pick one up in the 70s and check it out…ugh. Felt uninspiring, bland tone, neck like a dowel rod, bridge like an afterthought, bass felt like a toy. Beautiful, exciting visually, but…nope.

There are a lot of oddball vintage basses I find visually appealing. As far as modern basses go Padalka makes some killer looking stuff.
Me,too!!! I bought a BB800 back in 1980 and it was great! Now, if they could make them a bit lighter for this old man............ !!

Beautiful craftsmanship. In case you didn’t know, Bill Asher is the son of Bewitched actress Elizabeth Montgomery, and his specialty has been lap steel guitars as played by Ben Harper and David Lindley.
I’m partial to(some)variations/mutations of classic designs. As far as I can tell, Cataldo is no longer building, but I’d love to get one of these, but with a reverse headstock…
I knew about the steel guitars, since my friend works for him, helped build the Dire Wolf. He never mentioned to me about the relation to Elizabeth M. but that does not surprise me. 6 degrees of separation in this small town, L.A. Fyi, Bill used to work for Fender, and the first time I heard his name was when my friend suggested he might be able to take a look at the problems I was having with my SWR Baby Blue 2. Apparently he's pretty knowledgeable about Fender amps too. I gave up on fixing the BB2 and got a Rumble, and haven't looked back.
Gen 1 Reverend Brad Houser. The USA Reverends were all about the "kitsch factor". They were love at first sight for me!
