It'd be a crime not to say the 4001/4003 in my book. Other than that I'm going to have to hand it to the Ernie Ball stingray. Both unique looking but timeless.

Common opinion, but the classic Fender J/P and Tele headstocks are king.
I also like the ESP/LTD, Peavey, and Dingwall inline headstocks.

Definitely says Fender, but not the typical Fender headstock that's been copied countless times.

All three OG headstock shapes.. Fender, The "open book " Gibson, and the Ric "wave".
Hard to top.
But I also dig the classic Hofner, the "coke bottle "Dano, and others.
Its kinda easier to point out headstock I don't like.

Fender, and it's not even close. It captures the spirit of the scroll.
The classic headstock on the Fender P (57 and beyond) is the crown upon the king of basses.
Any 5-string headstock that is 2+3 instead of the more common 3+2 or worse, 4+1 so that the B string is far enough up the headstock that the leader has enough room and the string doesn't bind in the nut slot.
