Favorite bass headstock?

I think the headstock needs to work the body design. For example, I don’t dislike the BC Rich headstock, but also find it conflicts with the body designs.

I’m a big fan of the F Bass shape.

Back in the olden days (Julius Caesar was The Man) we used to play clubs - 6 nights per week. If I needed to tune my bass mid-set, there was no time whatsoever to do that between songs. As soon as the last note of a song was played, the drummer did four clicks and we were off on the next song.

To tune up mid-set, I hammered the notes with my left hand and used my right hand to reach across and make small tuning corrections. Doing that was much easier with a 4 inline headstock than a 2x2 headstock.

Because of that, I always preferred the Fender headstock. It was well suited for the times.

BTW, Julius’ favorite song was “Introductions” by Chicago. His second favorite song was one of his own compositions - “Et Tu?”
