Favorite Beatle?

Yup, the Fab 4. And everyone seems to have their favorite, for some reason or another. Who's yours? I personally find it very hard to choose, but I really like George's guitar playing, especially since I just watched Concert For Bangladesh earlier tonight. Aside: that concert is awesome!

Ringo looks the weirdest. And has made me laugh the most, mainly in ...one of their movies...where the camera falls into the water. Love his reaction.

I remember a sllightly drunken discussion I was haviing with another songwriter, once. He said that all songwriters fell into one of four categories. The four were on a continuum from meaningful to catchy, and could be described/labeled as specific Beatles.

A 'John' writes stuff that is heavy with meaning, but may not be particularly catchy.

A 'George' writes stuff that is somewhat more melodic, yet still pays attention to the meaningful content.

A 'Paul' writes really good, catchy melodies that may often be pretty deficient in the way of having actual things to say.

A 'Ringo' writes very catchy crap. Stuff that is seriously hook-laden, but utterly meaningless.

I can't help but notice that the radio is totally full of Ringos nowadays. I try to be a George, but am usually a John.

john lennon had the coolest voice of them all... one of those classic, amazing, rock&roll voices that was sort of like a tube amp in that it would distort at certain times....... i like listening to him the most.

paul's basslines rock, too. and his voice has that.... simple quality to it. which is kinda cool.

george was spacy. kind of emotional in a spacy way.

ringo.... ringo.

ringo's annoying.

I had to pick John too, though it would have been George otherwise.

Bummer that the only two Beatles I liked are already gone... and my girlfriend was born on John Lennon's birthday 2 months before he died, which has always made her feel a little strange...

Hmmm...well, I gotta go Paul, being he is my favorite bass player.
He was also by far, the best musician of the bunch, contributing a lot of keyboards, lead guitar, and even drums on the Beatles albums. He was also, by far, the best singer in the band as far as range, etc.

John was amazingly creative, and as someone else said, had an absolutely classic rock and roll voice.

George's guitar playing was wonderful. He wrote great songs too. Two of the best on Abbey Road (Something, Here Comes the Sun) were Georges.

Ringo knew what groove was before just about anyone else did. Fabulous drummer.

They were all awesome, but Paul is da man!

Paul gets the nod for his awesome basslines. What a tremendous player. George is a close second... songs like Something and While My Guitar Gently Weeps are waaaay up there.

Ringo is a sentimental favorite... love his voice! No disrespect to John either. It's hard to choose a favorite!

I probably should say Paul because he was an awesome bass player and wrote some great tunes. Unfortunately I am going with George because my fav Beatles tunes were written by him and like has been said before I preffered his post-Beatles career most out of all the boys. Wings just did nothing for me.

Next would be Paul, then.... hmmm, probably a tie between John and Ringo. John's "deep" lyrics usually don't strike me as that deep, and his voice bothers me sometimes, not all the time, but sometimes. Ringo, Ringo is stupid and I like that about him.

John Lennon, as a Beatle I thought he was outstanding.
Didn't really care for him after the Beatles.
But if the question is witch Beatle the answer to that, for me, would have to be John.
