Favorite childhood toys...

I probably spent more time with crayons and my bicycle than any other toys.
In fifth grade (1974) I got a cheap little Germanium diode radio. A crystal radio type toy, no battery, just an earphone and a wire with an alligator clip attached to the metal bunk bed frame. My parents would think I was asleep while I was listening to Top-40 on KJR. I really thought I was getting away with something.

you know, i'm honestly surprised that nobody mentioned the slinky in any of their posts yet. (until now, that is)
Went to the arena a couple times in the late 80's / early 90's. Got my arse kicked...
So then I went to the battletech center in North Pier....got my arse kicked there too.

It started with the "Forte Apache" and then came everything you see in this [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] that's related to the "far west", "Africa", Superheroes, The Phantom (in a red suit, as he appeared in Brazil), Tarzan and Zorro. All that were made in the 1970's. I was obsessed with 'em. Can't even begin to describe the radical crossovers I put them through!

A lot of toys came and went, but by 12 I settled on playing with Frisbees and riding motorcycles, also started playing trombone about that time.
Earlier toys were the usual matchbox cars, lincoln logs etc. etc. Guess my parents put up with a lot of toy buying over the years!
