Just here to say that the DCX Drive Circuit + The Aguilar Tone Hammer AGS sounds incredible. Has the perfect fuzzy blown out sound. Indie rock dream sound for me.

What's your current favorite stack of dirt pedals?

Recently I've been enjoying running Malekko Diabolik into Sansamp GT2 or Way Huge Pork Loin.
I love Diabolik, but it can be a bit harsh in the high frequencies, so something "dark" after it works great for me!

Broughton SV Pre as an always-on preamp on the edge of breakup, with the Origin DXC in overdrive mode running onto that as my second gain stage. I went through over 20 OD pedals trying to find "my sound", and this is the best combination I was able to find.

I have a nagging suspicion that the Origin Effects Bassrig SVT pedal could kick off the Broughton, but IDK. What I like about the Broughton is actually how transparent it can be. I'm not trying to make it sound like an SVT the way I use it. And the DCX is pretty much the king of wide ranging gain pedals, as far as I'm concerned.

I've been recording a lot more lately and I'm really loving most dirt into the Sansmp BDDI.

I have the bass driver set fairly subtlety with a decent amount of blend.

My "clean" tone is the Damnation MBD into the BDDI and my dirty tone is the same setup but with the boost engaged on the MBD.

I don't know what is call what I've been writing lately. Maybe ambient post rock with lots of synth textures.

Currently I use a Blue Colander Tremond + one of three other pedals:

• Blue Colander Crooked Axis
• Blue Colander Small Fracture
• MAE Black Math

Tremond sounds great at all gain levels but I almost exclusively use it as the first stage, to add some basic grit and clank for articulation down the chain. I just got the Small Fracture though, and it also does the clanky thing very well.

I used the DXC > Sv-pre for a bit as well. Very nice. I ended up with the Tone Hammer because I liked the drive character just a little better. But the SV-pre was just awesome for low gain.

I've also had my eye on the Origin Bassrig SVT… Maybe one day I'll give it a go. But all the demos sound a little dark for me

I'm also playing Indie Rock, Jad Freer Capo gives me 3 levels of dirt with only one pedal.

Lusithand Ground and Pound into Night Owl Edison. Pick-based with a Stingray

Gasoline into Centurion, especially blended into the "top" side of clean/overdriven signal.
I have the DCX last but have been underwhelmed by the overdrive thus far. So I'm using it as some kind of "signal warmer"/master eq before hitting my amp so far, but it might be replaced by a compressor one day.
Is it good with my P bass? Sure.

But I am so far along my tone journey that I know when a pedal makes me smile immediately, and the Gasoline's smooth metallic grind going into the slightly fuzzy but also grindy Centurion have been awesome. The closest pedals to the Gasoline(which I've been trying to knock off my amp since 2020) have been the Rusty Box, Seamoon Grind, and the Darkglass VMT. But I have none of those pedals left except the VMT and Harmonic Booster, which I lent to a friend, because they also sound too good to be sitting around.

Other pedals that have tried and failed for me recently were the CMC Proto-Type, Lustithand Ground N Pound, and the DPFx Echidna(which is bright like the Gasoline but a lot less refined). and a whole host of Earthquaker pedals.
