The movie is The Duellists and it's set in the French Grand Army during Napoleon's invasion of Russia. Keith Carradine vs. Harvey Kietel in the best swordfights ever filmed, IMO.

BTW, I'm not very good at finding mistakes on movies, but that scene has a very easily detectable one. Do you know or remember what I'm talking about? (Maybe it isn't that easy to detect in the link because of the low image quality, but if you saw the movie at the cinema, a good TV broadcast or DVD, most likely you know the answer)

Of non-martial arts movie fights, I'd have to go with this one. Just a big, long, ugly alley brawl...beautiful!
