Favorite Geddy Lee Bass Line...

"Show Don't Tell" is both the bassline that truly encouraged me to pick up the instrument (IIRC, the song was a single in the Fall of '89 and received my first bass that Xmas) as well as the song that turned me from a "Yeah, I like Rush" guy to a "Am I missing any of the back catalog?!?" *uberfan*!

Plus, out of all the tremendous bass parts than Geddy has played, few have been traditional "Bass Solo". In SDT he not only has a killer line throughout the song, but also plays the traditionally-placed solo... and rips it to shreds! :D

Rush - what you're doing
Fly by night - making memories
Caress of steel - The fountain of lamneth
2112 - Something for nothing
A farewell to kings - Cinderella Man
Hemispheres - Hemispheres
Permanent waves - Natural Science
Moving pictures - Vital signs
Signals - New world man
Grace under pressure - the body electric
Power windows - The big money
Hold your fire - Time stand still
Presto - Show don't tell
Roll the bones - Roll the bones
Counterparts - Leave that thing alone
Test for echo - Driven
Vapor Trails - Freeze
Feedback (not origanal geddy bass lines, but its geddy so what the heck) - Summertime blues
Snakes and arrows - Malignant narcissam

Honestly, they are all my favourite!

Well.. since i'm listening to Grace Under Pressure as I type this, Red Lenses is on, so i'll go with that one for the moment. I read every reply on this thread and agree with each and every response. There are just too many great ones!
