Favorite Geddy Lee Bass Line...

"Show Don't Tell" is both the bassline that truly encouraged me to pick up the instrument (IIRC, the song was a single in the Fall of '89 and received my first bass that Xmas) as well as the song that turned me from a "Yeah, I like Rush" guy to a "Am I missing any of the back catalog?!?" *uberfan*!

Plus, out of all the tremendous bass parts than Geddy has played, few have been traditional "Bass Solo". In SDT he not only has a killer line throughout the song, but also plays the traditionally-placed solo... and rips it to shreds!

Actually, not just for bass, but for all three of them; listen to the breakdown during Alex's solo in Freewill. In my mind, that's them in their prime, simply majestic.

"Tom Sawyer" is one of the classic basslines of rock history. It was one of the pieces that really got me into playing bass. "Dreamline" is another song I like.
